From time to time I receive request where merchant asks me about possibility to define purchase limit of products in defined time-frame like "1 day", "1 week" etc. You can find and example of such request below:

with Prestashop Maximum product quantity is possible to set for a specific customer group a daily purchase limit of two quantities for each product ?

 

The answer for such expectaction is our maximum product quantity module that allows to create such quantity-limit conditions. These quantity conditions can be limited to defined time frame like "24 hours", "1 week", "1 year" etc. It is great tool if you sell products that are limited, or some medicines. Below you can find step-by-step instriction related to module configuration.

Configuration of basic module workflow

1. install the maximum product quantity module
2. open module configuration page
3. on the left hand side you've got feature "maximum quantity for all purchases", click there on "main settings of feature" button: 
   

4. Select order states. Module will count the number of sold products from orders with at least one order state selected there (these states points to "confirmed order" - because we want to count the number of sold items from real orders that were confirmed. For example - you can exclude "cancelled" orders from calculations)

5. Below you can find option the time-frame. Select there "last day orders": 
   

6. save settings

Configuration of quantity limit per day for all products

1. Then in menu select "mass generate quantity limits"

2. expand all categories and hit "check all" button to select all categories from your shop: 
   

3. from "what you want to do" option select "Define maximum quantity for products" 
   

4. in next select tool select group of customers for which you want to create such condition

5. in "quantity to define" type 2 - this is the quantity limit purchase/day

6. save changes. Repeat steps 7-12 for other groups of customers, if requried.

You can find there special section that module creates where you can configure module individually for this item (the settings defined on product edit page will be applicable for exact products only).
