How to add DISQUS comments to PrestaShop?

In this paper you will read about adding DISQUS comments system to store based on PrestaShop engine. It's simple, because we created a module DISQUS comments, for adding this great social-network feature to own shop. So, let's start. For the first you must get our module.

PrestaShop DISQUS comments module

Our addon is a great feature to add comments to each products in our shop based on PrestaShop engine.  Disqus is the easiest way to build active communities and works with PrestaShop engine perfectly. With this module you can add own comments system in two most important places on product page called product tab and product footer hooks. This two places is the best positions in your shop, to add comments feature. Its up to you to decide where to place DISQUS comments!

1. Create own DISQUS account 

If you don't have an DISQUS account yet, go to DISQUS register form and create own account and register your website. It's very simple but we show you how to do that without mistakes. If you already have an account in DISQUS network, log in into your disqus account and go to DISQUS register form.

You click on the image to enlarge it. Ok, so as you probably see, you've got two forms to fill there. First, on right, where you can create own moderator and commenter account. Second, on left, where you must register your site, where you want add DISQUS comment feature. In Primary moderator form you must define your Username (in this case we create account iamGODhere, Password and your email address. That's all for moderator form.

In Register your site for free form as we say, you must define a page, where you want add DISQUS comments feature. So, in:

• Site URL you must write an address to your shop. 
• Site Name write there name of your site, for example: "My Shop with Modules"
• Site shortname it's most important!you must remember value of shortname parameter.

If you are ready, click on Continue button. After that, the system logs you in automatically. Now you account is active and you register your site properly.Now you can configure DISQUS prestashop module.

2. DISQUS module installation and configuration

Now go to your PrestaShop back-office. Log in as a shop administrator and go to modules section. if you haven't already installed the DISQUS comments, do it now. If you don't know how to do that, read tutorial about installing modules in prestashop. Just follow the steps in tutorial with using DISQUS comments module.

Ok, so, If you have already installed the module, go to module configuration page. Configure the location of the comments. As we say, you can check one from two positions in product page. Check one and now you must edit most important thing. The site shortname parameter.

Is the unique identification of your comment's feature. So you must put here exactly the same value as you put in the order form in DISQUS registration form in first step.

This is most important thing in installation process. Put exactly the same shortname parameter in both forms and click on "Save Settings" button. That's all!
