In this article i want to introduce 3 PrestaShop modules to meet European Union law requirements. Addons that i will introduce here are free and paid. European Union law defines some necessary features that each e-commerce website must use. Each European Union country has got own law, but this law must meet laws defined in EU directives.
European union cookies law
Cookies law module is absolutely necessary feature in each website that uses cookies to increase shop usability etc. PrestaShop uses cookies to store information about customer session. With these cookies customers can put products to cart, define currency, language version of the shop etc. In some cases shop owners use also external solutions like google analytics, zopim chat or other external services. These services also use cookies, so you have to inform shop guests about fact, that your website uses cookies files. In this case european union cookies law are necessary.
Payment modules with cart (order) summary
European Union directives contains laws related to order-process too. Directive says that customers during their order process must know what they order, how many products they have in the cart, what is the delivery price, what discounts they have etc. These informations must be included on the last page of payment process, there where they have to confirm order with button "i confirm order". This is usually last page of order process and after they will press "i confirm order" - order is processed and added to your online shop. For these purposes i developed 2 modules to support most popular payment methods. These modules meet european union law requirements.
Bankwire with order summary
Bank transfer module is the most popular payment method in online stores today. This PrestaShop addon creates feature to support bankwire payments and meets european union law requirements related to appearance of order summary on page, where customers can confirm their order. Module contains features to enable or disable cart summary on the last payment step, feature to enable or disable customer address information (customers can check if they provided correct delivery address and datas for invoice). Cash on delivery with order summary
Cash on delivery is the second popular payment method in e-commerce websites. With this plugin your customers can pay for their order when it will be delivered to them. Module contains order summary table on the last page of the payment process. This feature will meet law requirements. Module contains option to turn on or turn off cart summary table, and also contains features to enable / disable address summary where customers can check datas they provided in delivery address form, and datas for invoice purposes.
