Prestashop 1.6 has got great feature to display or hide modules on selected devices like mobile, tablet or pc. You can achieve it without touching code of the shop. You don't have to alter css styles, .tpl files or even you don't have to alter controllers of shop. Take a look on video that i attached below. Guide is related to visibility of cart block on mobile devices. You can do the same things for other modules.
