PrestaShop HTML Box Pro

I am currently using v3.99 on PrestaShop 8.2.1.  Re-installed 3.99 after 3.995 would create error 500 in backoffice when editing blocks.

HTMLBOX Pro appears to be working, however, when troubleshooting a different module, I enabled debug.  While my custom hooks appear correctly in front office (3 different blocks on the product page), Debug reveals two errors prior to displaying the blocks.  Errors are:

Warning: Undefined array key "hideblock_by_group" in .../smarty/compile/classic/dd/b2/52/ddb252f6afeeb40ae3213c908b2dfbfe21fb623f_2.file.html.tpl.php on line 557. 

and

Warning: Attempt to read property "value" on null in .../smarty/compile/classic/dd/b2/52/ddb252f6afeeb40ae3213c908b2dfbfe21fb623f_2.file.html.tpl.php on line 557

Looks like this could be part of your html.tpl, as that is the only file I could find that contains the hideblock_by_group.

Is there anything I may be doing wrong?  

I have since deleted and re-installed v3.9.9.  The warning still persists in the front office only showing when debug is enabled.  

Also noticed:

Each time a block is saved, <div id="dashBreakpointsHook" style="display: none;"></div> is appended to the code.  I am using the the default settings.

The warnings suggest that hideblock_by_group isn't defined or initialized properly before being accessed in html.tpl. To fix this, ensure the variable is always set—use isset() or assign a default value in the controller or template to prevent undefined index and null property errors.

can i buy this module, and use this for get raw slider for raw category pages. i need slider for category page, with short codes, this real. example- slide1 for cat 1, slider2 for cat2, and again. thanks

The contents you will use in the module depends on you (module by default does not create any kind of content).

If you've got a code of some slider - you can use and save this code in the module and display it in one from selected default or non-default hooks.

"hook" is a position in template, where prestashop allows to display modules.

 

category page by default has several hooks that can be used to display this kind of contents, for example:

• displayTop
• displayContentWrapperTop
• displayContentWrapperBottom
• + other hooks depending on used theme layout

 

The key question is where exactly on category page you expect to display the slider.

 

 

 

You also mentioned shortcodes,

by default this module does not create shortcode to display custom contents,

but it can work together with "shortcodes" module that has this feature (it has shortcode to display custom contents from "html box pro" module)

There are at least 3 possible ways to achieve what you expect.
Below i will describe each of the possibility with usage of modules I developed.
 

1. paste a code of your raw slider directly to to the category description
   I know that this is not a "shortcode" type of your expectaction and may be problematic in context of management (copy-paste code for each category, then edit each category if you will want to change something) but with this method you can achieve what you expect (to display slider on specific category page).
   The only one thing that may be required is a something that will extend "rich text editor" in prestashop because the default one does not allow to save javascripts etc. (it allows but only partially, and for sure - code will not be saved properly). The feature to extend editor can be, for example, this one: https://mypresta.eu/...ext-editor.html
2. html box pro and custom hook
   If I were you i will use this method. I will create custom hook in the module, for example with name "displayAfterCategoryDescription" and then - add shortcode to run this hook to .tpl file that is responsible for category page view (/themes/your-theme/templates/catalog/_partials/category-header.tpl). THen in the html box pro module create custom contents for this hook. You will be able to create unlimited number of "html boxes" with different settings (so you will be able to create slider for categories - module gives possibiliry to show custom contents for specific category pages)
3. html box pro + shortcodes module
   This method can be useful if you expect to display slider somewhere inside description field (between text in category description).
   In html box pro module you can create your slider,
   then with shortcodes plugin: https://mypresta.eu/...shortcodes.html  you can use [htmlboxpro:X] shortcode directly in the description of category, where the X is the ID of html box you created in the module

 
the devil is in the details,
if you just expect to show slider AFTER description second method will work and you will not have to use any additional feature. Seems like this is what you expect.

there are two ways to insert custom css or add a code to import css file with your styles:

I have leotheme template where i have a lot of non-default hooks.

can i use html box pro module to display my contents there?

sure, you can use this module to display contents in custom hooks.

module has a special section where you can type the custom hook name and module will start support of this non-default hook and this means that you will have possibiltiy to create "boxes" with contents in this position.

module itself does not have this feature. you can run some hook and module attached to this hook with special shortcode, like:
{HOOK:displayProductFooter:productcomments}
where:

• displayProductFooter - is a product name

• productcomments - is a module name

So:
You can run homepage products pro blocks with code like:
{HOOK:displayHome:hpp}

Or related products pro with code:
{Hook:displayProductFooter:ppb}

Please note that this does not display some specific "homepage products" instance or "related products" instance. It just executes hook with module, this means that it can display many blocks, or just nothing.


Our shortcodes module https://mypresta.eu/...prestashop.html gives possibility to display exact block with products with shortcodes:
[hpp:9] - where 9 is an id of "homepage products" instance
[rpp:6] - where 6 is an id of "related products" instance

shortcodes from "shortcodes" module can be used anywhere - including contents created with html box pro.

by "does not work" means that you've got some errors? or what happens exactly?

- what option you activated during module configuration
- what page you tried to check (full url) to verify if contents are visible, or not

you need to update module to version at least 3.6.9

- added improvements to module usage in prestashop 1.7.7.0

 

 

prestashop from version 1.7.7.x changed the way of how back office works in terms of javascripts (jquery toggle() function).
because of this - we had to update module to support these changes.

How to download update?
As customer you can download free upgrades of the module for one year.
To download upgrade please log in to your customer account, and open "my orders" page: http://mypresta.eu/my-account/orders/
Download module there in the same way as you downloaded it first time. You will download there always recently released version of the module.

If your updates expired you do not have to purchase new license, you can extend access to upgrades with large discount (from 60% up to 90% discount - depending on order value). You can do it directly from "my orders" section.

How to make updated version work ?

1. To make module work in new version, it is enough to reinstall it in shop's back office.
   Do not worry - when you will uninstall it and install again - module will remember all its settings and previously created blocks.
   After module installation - you will be able to edit existing and create new blocks without problems.
   
   if you previously created custom hooks:
   - after module reinstallation, open its configuration page
   - scroll page down, there is a section where you can "add new hooks"
   - there is a button "regenerate hooks" - press it 
   - module will start to support your custom hooks
   - if you will not see hook's contents - deactivate and activate hook with "checkbox" near hook name
   
   If you do not see previously created blocks in your shop's front office:
   - please open box edit page
   - verify options, focus on "groups visibility" feature since it gives possibility to create blocks for many groups (not only one as it was in the past)
   usually these steps solves all problems with module and its update process.
   
    
2. open module configuration page,
   go to "settings" tab, there is a "check for updates" form.
   Hit "check" button. Module will check if there are some new versions and in addition to this it will verify current installation. If there will be something to fix - module will do this.

if you've got some other problems (not related to save process of blocks) like appearance problems (not visible menu elements, problems with blocks visibility in shop's back office)
1) please press ctrl+f5 on configuration page of the module. It's a "hard refresh" that refreshes also old css/js files that browser remembers
2) or clear browser cache


these steps should solve problems you mentioned

Hi, Is it possible with this module to select visibility to one category and at the same tme exclude some products? I mean, I want to show banner for products in ona category but need to exclude a few of them. Is it possible? 

of course, these features are default features of the module.

you can activate both visibility conditions and these both conditions will be used to show/hide contents

as i mentioned - your theme may have a little different code, so exact position where it is required to add this code is theme-related.
anyway, once you will save your new code, you can go to html box pro and create custom hook "myRibbon", activate it and create custom blocks there, these blocks should appear as in guide - if not - it will be required to personalize css styles of theme (i can suggest changes but i need to see your website)

displayPaymentReturn hook is a very specific hook that appears only on selected payment modules. So, in your case - the other hook will probably do the job.
it depends on where exactly you want to display your custom contents. If on "order confirmation page" - the hook displayOrderConfirmation is the right choice.
