PrestaShop allows to define how long shop will remeber "cart" of user that left the website without checkout. In some cases, especially if we sell some products like tickets etc, we need to control the way of how long shop will remember cart with such products. How to change cart lifetime?

Whole process is very easy and fortunately - prestashop allows to manage cart lifetime from shop back office. At the begining it is worth to say something about how it works from technical point of view. Well, once you add somethnig to cart prestashop creates new cart and your browser store information about this cart in browser cookie. Each cookie that prestashop creates has an expiry date and in fact - this defines how long browser will remember cart. So simply saying to decrease cart lifetime in browser it will be enough to decrease cookie life time. How to do that? check steps below:

1. login to your shop back office
2. go to administration > preferences (see screenshot)
3. you will see a page where you can find 3 sections: general, upload quota, notifications.
   
4. focus on "general" section - change there value of "lifetime of front office cookies"
5. value in this field is equal to cart lifetime in hours
6. decrease / increase it depending on your needs
