Main and the most important purpose of the module is mass quantity (in bulk) update od products and or combinations of these products. This plugin will quickly and passively update stock by defined value and based on various criterions where you can point a set of products that will be a subject of stock update process.

Point products  by various criterions

To update stock you have to go through two steps. In first step you have to point products that will be a subject of mass stock change. You can point these products by various criterions that i describe below:

• exact list of products with possibility to manage this list of products
  This type of criterion gives you possibility to create a list of products by category (you add products from selected categories to this list) or by selected keyword/phrase search results. List of products can be altered - you can add some products, remove them etc.
• Products associated with selected category or categories
  This filter gives you possibility to explore categories tree and point many various categories. In effect as a subject of products' stock update in bulk will be a products that are associated with pointed categories. All of them.
• products from defined brand (manufacturer)
  this option gives you possibility to point selected brand (manufacturer) so in effect module will change quantity of products that are associated with selected brand (manufacturer).
• products that are associated with selected features
  This filter type gives you possibility to massively change quantity of products that are associated with selected features (feature values)
• products that have combinations created with usage of selected attribute (attribute values)
  This option gives you possibility to point attribute values. As a subject of mass quantity update module will use products that have combinations that have attribute values you selected.
• Products associated with selected tax rules
  If you have products associated with various tax rules you can point exact tax rule group. Module will update stock of products that are associated with selected tax rule.

Increasement or decreasement of stock

In second step you decide what you want to do with stock of selected products. Of course you can increase or decrease stock of these products (or these products' combinations). Module has also feature to set exact value of stock of selected products.

Quantity of products in prestashop depends on type of product.

1. If product does not have combinations the quantity of product is assigned directly to this product.
2. If product has combinations - quantity of product is a sum of all combinations' quantity of this product.

How module behaves in context of this?

1. If product does not have combinations: module will increase or decrease quantity of product
2. if product has combinations: module will increase or decrease quantity of each combination of selected selected products.

Hook execution
Each time when you change the quantity of products in your shop with usage of default feature (for example on product edit page while you update product's stock) prestashop spawns hook actionUpdateQuantity that can be used by other modules to take action when stock of exact product or even exact combination is changed. Our module spawns this hook as well so other modules that take actions when stock is updated are compatible with our addon.
